EDUCATIONAL COLLABORATION
AND CONSULTING

Academic and group-learning settings can be challenging for many individuals, making it difficult for both the student and the staff to effectively work together. Summit values collaborating with school personnel to aid in successful transitions of our clients into the academic setting. Collaboration may include participation in IEP meetings, observations, hands-on services with existing clients in the educational setting, and providing support to school personnel working directly with our current clients.

Additional school consultation services, not related to current clients, are available to interested schools/school districts. These consultations are aimed to ease the academic environment for all parties involved: the students, families, and school personnel. Consultation services include on-site assessment of challenging behavior and a student's current skills. Following assessments, an individualized behavior plan will be designed to fit the need of the student, with input and collaboration from all administrative parties involved in the student's development. School personnel will be trained on behavioral principles and a student's behavior plan, in order to best ensure lasting behavior change. 

 

Summit also offers assistance with implementing class-wide behavior interventions, creating IEP goals and interventions for skill acquisition, evaluation of student and staff performance, and more. Staff development and training services can also be offered on an individual or group basis and may include informative presentations, hands-on workshops, or reoccurring one-on-one training.
